New requirements for the maintenance and inspection of lifeboats, rescue boats, launching appliance and launching gear come into effect from 1st January 2020.
Amendments to SOLAS III/3 and III/20 introduce mandatory requirements for maintenance and inspection to be carried out by a ‘certified person’ as detailed in Resolution MSC 402(96).
